I am a Clinical Psychologist offering private Clinical Psychology in Northampton, Northamptonshire. I provide psychological assessment and psychological therapy to individuals, parents and carers, and work with both children and adults. This work aims to support people to better understand and cope with difficulties they may be experiencing so to improve their psychological well being and quality of life.
Skilled in working with a variety of difficulties, I have particular expertise in working with trauma, mental health and adapting psychological therapy to meet the needs of children and adults with learning difficulties, learning disabilities, and autism. I also have expertise in the diagnostic assessment of learning disabilities and autism and working with behavioural difficulties and challenging behaviour.
I am a chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered with the regulatory body, the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I have worked in the field of clinical psychology for 9 years in both the NHS and private sector. I have a BSc in Psychology (Hons) and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
I have completed further post qualification training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR, a type of psychological therapy), Positive Behaviour Support (PBS, an approach used to support those presenting with challenging behaviour) and use of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) as an assessment tool in the diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD). In addition to my private work, I am currently working as a clinical psychologist in the NHS.
